History

The history of Carlscape101 is quite interesting and how its existence came into being is quite interesting. Firstly, some of this information can be found in the About Me page, but whatever. The main reason I made this website is to share stuff about technology, but that wasn’t how it was all the time. There were many other things that I wanted to like have a website that was good for Runescape or something similar, but that didn’t work out too well because Runescape isn’t too interesting to make and awesome website about. I really abandoned my entire career of making websites for a while because I didn’t think that it would be really interesting to have a site about anything else. Then I kind of decided that maybe it would be good if I had a website about a sites computer and that really flopped because there is no way that I could computer with all those sites out there who have all these awesome powerful sites about computers and such so that I gave up and again I gave up making website for a while. Then one day it struck me that I could me content about new, emerging technology, what I’m doing (maybe to do with technology), and have a pretty good website. I continued at Zymic for a while, but realized that I could not keep editing all that raw HTML with out using some type of WYSIWYG editor or something to that effect. Now, early on in my career of making websites I had been quite acquainted with WordPress so I decided to go with a blog. Now, the first blog system that I chose was not a very good one as I ended up picking PivotX (www.pivotx.net), but that was a very new blogging system that was just emerging and I could not use to the level I had expected. I then decided need MySQL databases to just go with WordPress and be done with it. I decided to go with WordPress while keeping another point in mind, which was to not spend anything in making a website. To stand by the point of staying with free webhosts I ended up having to switch from 110MB hosting to Zymic Hosting. I set up WordPress and started using it and have been using it so far without any problems.
